Welcome to Surviving my Menopause! I’m Tanya, the woman behind the blog, and I’m thrilled to have you here.
My journey into the world of menopause began when I realized there were too few places where I could find honest answers or simply feel understood during this transformative phase of life. At 37, with the sudden removal of an ovary, my body swiftly plunged into perimenopause. My doctor prescribed hormones, but the experience was far from what I had hoped for. After just a year, I made the decision to stop taking them. By the time I turned 42, I had entered post-menopause.
One of the greatest challenges I faced during this time was the lack of readily available resources and supportive communities. The information I did come across often fell short of addressing the real, raw experiences of menopause. It was then that I realized the need for a space where women could find the unfiltered truth—both the ups and downs—and feel supported every step of the way.
That’s why I created this blog—to offer a sanctuary for women navigating the complexities of menopause. Here, you’ll find a plethora of content covering all stages of this journey, from perimenopause to post-menopause. But more than that, I aim to provide the kind of information I wish I had access to myself—practical tips, personal anecdotes, and answers to the questions that kept me up at night.
While I may not be a medical expert, I speak from firsthand experience, and my mission is simple: to help other women feel less alone, less confused, and less like they’re losing their minds. Whether you’re seeking reassurance, guidance, or just a listening ear, know that you’ve found a supportive community here.
So welcome to Surviving my Menopause—I’m honored to walk this journey with you.
Warm regards,
Tanya
